Spritz Cookies
Aunt Jeanene rediscovered her cookie press. It's so fun and easy to use. I made these cute little wreath cookies, and found a good recipe for them on allrecipes.com
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 t. salt
1/4 t. ground cinnamon
1 c. butter, softened
1 (3 oz) package cream cheese, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
1 t. vanilla extract
1 t. orange zest
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift together the flour, salt and cinnamon; set aside.
In a medium bowl, cream together butter and cream cheese. Add sugar and yolk; beat until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla and orange zest. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Fill a cookie press or pastry bag with dough, and form cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until cookies are golden brown on the beaks and bottoms. Remove from cookie sheets immediately to cool on wire racks.
*I left out the orange zest, and added extra vanilla*
The original Spritz cookie recipe is a little different, and you can make it to be any flavor you like!
