3 1/2 to 4 1/2 c. flour
4 T. sugar
1 t. salt
2 pkg yeast (4 1/2 t.)
1 c. milk
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. butter
Mix 2 c. flour, sugar, salt, and yeast (undissolved).
In a sauce pan add milk, water, and butter. Heat on low until warm (butter does not need to melt). Gradually add to dry ingredients. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed with whisk beater. Add 1 1/2 c. of flour, then beat on high for 2 minutes. Change to a dough hook. Add remaining flour (may need to add a little more or less, want the dough to no longer be sticking to the side of the bowl). After the dough is soft, beat for 5 minutes. Place in greased bowl and raise for 15 minutes. Bake at 425 for 12 minutes.
(this makes about 12 rolls)
This recipe seems to work better in the Bosch if I one and half times the recipe. And I like them best with half whole wheat, half white flour.
