Orange Oven French Toast

This is what we were eating to start off Thanksgiving. It is one of our most favorite breakfasts!

(This can be prepared overnight to put into the oven in the morning)
1/4 c. butter, melted
2 T. honey
1 t. cinnamon

3 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. orange juice
1 t. vanilla
orange zest from 1 orange
1/2 t. cinnamon
8-10 slices French bread
1 orange, sliced (optional garnish)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees unless making this for overnight. Lightly spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray. In a small bowl, combine butter, honey, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon; mix well. Pour into prepared cookie sheet. In a medium bowl, slightly beat eggs. Add milk, orange juice, orange zest, vanilla, and half teaspoon of cinnamon; mix well.

Dunk bread slices into egg mixture to coat both sides well. Arrange slices, side by side, on top of butter mixture in prepared pan. This may be refrigerated overnight at this point. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown, turning bread slices halfway through baking. Arrange on platter with orange slices and serve with butter, maple syrup, or jam.
