Note: this recipe made A TON! The recipe I followed didn't have a serving size but I would probably half it next time unless you're having like 20 people over. I know there's another fondue recipe on here but this one is really good too and really simple. I also don't like the ones that have alcohol because I don't like the taste it gives it so this was a kid friendly recipe I found.
1 cube Butter or Margarine
3/4 cup flour
4 cups milk
1 lb. Swiss cheese
1 lb. Cheddar cheese (I used extra sharp)
2 tsp Worchestier sauce
2 TBS Lemon juice
1 tsp Garlic powder
Salt and Pepper
In a large sauce pan, combine butter, flour and milk to form sauce. Once blended, add cheese and stir until melted (I did this all over about medium heat). Add Worchestier sauce, lemon, garlic, salt and pepper to taste, right before serving.
Since I had a ton left over, I put the rest in the fridge and it reheated great! (I'm eating it leftover as I type this...).
Another tip, we had little smokies with this since I made it for dinner I wanted something with more substance besides bread and they were so good! Just something I hadn't thought of having with fondue before. I also cooked little potatoes, and we had apples, carrots and a baguette. Yummy and
fun Valentines dinner!
